Who we are

Momotoko – authentic Japanese food since 2015

We have offered authentic and tasty food experiences from the Japanese cuisine since the opening of the 1st Momotoko ramen restaurant in Helsinki in 2015.

Momotoko was founded by three families who got inspired to open a Japanese restaurant that serves ramen. At the time, Finland didn’t have any ramen restaurants, so the founders decided to study everything about ramen and fix the situation.

Authentic Japanese food is the founders’ passion. They are also endlessly enthusiastic about developing the restaurant and the foods on the menu.

Momotoko has grown into Finland’s biggest ramen restaurant chain and has nine restaurants around Southern Finland. We also have 2 restaurants in Tallinn, Estonia.

Fact: Ramen is Japan’s all-time favourite food. Japan has over 30,000 ramen restaurants.

It all starts with the noodles

Momotoko’s speciality are the traditional ramen soups with handmade noodles and slow-cooked meat and broth. These ingredients are the key to Momotoko’s authentic and traditional flavour profile.

Noodles are an important part of each bowl of ramen. We make our noodles from scratch with Momotoko’s own noodle machine. With the machine, we are able to make consistent quality noodles that are always fresh and delicious.

Carefully picked ingredients and constant product development

The noodle machine bought from Japan was a big step forward in the restaurant’s development, on top of which we keep continuously developing in other areas. For example, we test and improve our recipes constantly. That’s the secret of Momotoko’s tasty and high-quality dishes.

A traditional Momotoko’s ramen is handcrafted and made from good ingredients without cutting any corners. With cooking, we take the longest route because that always results in the best flavours.

Customer service with a big heart

On top of quality food, Momotoko also invests in good customer service. In our restaurants clients are welcomed with smiles and a friendly attitude that is created by our good work environment. Momotoko’s restaurants have good team spirit and are great places to work – and that shows to customers!
